Dave Loew… Inspirational cellist with music in his heart
Music can be a powerful support through life… Dave Loew was introduced to the cello at aged 6 and it went on to become his love and passion as he travelled an adventurous road out of Africa into the professional world of music… He shares an inspiring story of spirit and determination..
How we connected with Dave Loew… It was my grandson’s love for music that drew my daughter and me to Dave Loew’s performance at a local venue a few years ago. We were so captivated by his music we both bought his CD’s and have played them over and over…
Claudine and I were drawn to his music again and went on to enjoy another of his performances (music by Bach) held at a quaint church in the beautiful Kangarilla area of South Australia. We later enjoyed a heart warming conversation around the impact of music on wellbeing and healing…
His wonderful music is now shared and available around the world… We are also very grateful that his music brings a comforting back drop to our cancer related programs… Thank you so much Dave for your inspiration and passion to bring the beautiful sound of the Cello to our ears…

What has music brought to your life and wellbeing?
Playing my gorgeous cello Angelica always centres me and focuses my chakras and moods when especially in a difficult time or moments be it business ,music world etc its better than any medication! And music touches the soul as I always endeavour to do in my performing.
Music has the power to move nations to stop people in their tracks and change their thoughts and moods ….the great Spanish cellist proved this when he played a solo at the United Nations in 1954….
What were your inspirations and influences with your music?
My late uncle who perished in the holocaust at 21, was a fine amateur cellist so mum wanted me to play and it was a duck to water…at 6. Then at 10 world famous cellist Raya Garbousova came to Nairobi and taught me 2 lessons and greatly encouraged me to go on. Then my mentor Christopher Bunting in London for 20 wonderful years…
With a family of show business people I always love playing from opera to pop to movies to musicals classical to blues in all special arrangements…as reflected in my CD releases The Dave Loew Collection.
