World Cancer Day, Flinders Foundation Cancer Wellness Centre, Knit a Care Square Blankets
World Cancer Day is an international day marked on February 4 to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. World Cancer Day is led by the Union for International Cancer Control to support the goals of the World Cancer Declaration, written in 2008.
It was apt that the opening of the Flinders Foundation Cancer Wellness Centre celebrated its opening on that day, and it was wonderful that Knit a Care Square blankets were gifted to the centre.
Knit a Care Square community (Real Time Heart-Based Community Project) created two beautiful blankets, designed with the Centre’s colours in mind. They were very well received and it is showed a wonderful loop of kindness by community, for the community.
The hands of many, engaging in small ways, doing things they love, made this donation possible.
